GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE / GMB
As promised, the single most important thing you can do to start your Local SEO campaign.
Google Business Profile /Google My Business
Create a Google Business Profile listing that shows at the top of Google search results. You can set up a FREE listing by following these instructions.
If you already have a GMB/Google Business Profile, there’s still plenty of actions you can take to boost your SEO efforts. For starters, your Google Business Profile isn’t a set and forget kind of thing.
Make sure to keep your listing up to date and use the post function to attract even more customers.
Keywords are one of the most important components of SEO.
Search engines index your website by keyword, so they know where to send visitors. After all, if you sell landscaping, it won’t do any good to have people visit your site who are looking for painters, right?
When a visitor searches the web, they input keywords to find your business. Websites with keywords matching the visitors query are presented in search results.
Your website isn’t alone on the internet
If you’re looking for roofing services, you might visit google.com and enter roofing contractor into the search bar.
What happens? Millions of results are returned.
In the scenario above the keyword is roofing contractor (a keyword can be a phrase or a single word). If your website is indexed on Google for roofing contractor, you will be somewhere in those million results.
You can wade through the pages looking for what you want, or you change your search to be more specific. If you are in Florida, you might change your search to roofing contractor in Florida.
Use Location in your web pages to increase your page visibility
If your website is also indexed on Google for roofing contractor in Florida, you would be found in the narrower, more detailed search. Other results were weeded out just by adding Florida.
Even when the search is narrowed to roofing contractor in Florida, there are still many results! Your website could be way down the list.
It’s not very encouraging, is it?
Being on page 100,000 is probably not going to get visitors, to your website.
The good news is, there are many other ways to move your website to the front of the line in search engines. Being in the front of the line means more visitors, leads, and sales.
